A segment on the CNN program "NewsNight with Aaron Brown" today opened with the chorus to the song "I Still
Believe in Bigfoot" by Danny Freyer.
As CNN news anchor Aaron Brown introduced the report, the song's chorus provided the musical introduction to a
ten-minute segment called ?Bigfoot Lives? about the existence of Bigfoot.
The lyrics of the chorus are "I still believe in Bigfoot, don't care what they say, still believe in apple pie and the
good old USA".
The program was broadcast during 8:00 p.m., and re-broadcast at 10:00 p.m. in five U.S. time zones to cable and
satellite systems in North America, where CNN is the top cable news network in households and total viewers,
reaching over 85 million US homes.
Commenting on CNN's use of the song, Freyer said "I'm delighted that Aaron Brown's CNN program carried part
of my song. It's the first song I've published so I'm particularly pleased that it was broadcast on a top television
channel that reaches millions".
?More importantly? he added, ?there are a lot of serious people working very hard to unravel the Bigfoot
mystery. Hopefully the song, and it being broadcast can in a small way help inspire them to persevere?.
Prior to today's broadcast, the song had received a lot of response from Bigfoot researchers, but has had limited
exposure to the general public.
The song was composed in response to a December 7, 2002 news report about Bigfoot. In that news story it was
claimed that "Bigfoot is dead" due the death of a Mr. Ray Wallace who had created a hoax, and was himself
Bigfoot.
The song, is part of a CD titled "I Still Believe in Bigfoot" featuring original songs performed and recorded by
Danny Freyer. For the time being, CD's are exclusively available via the website: http://www.bigfootblues.com
